In my last article, I introduced attractions to ride at Tokyo Disneyland in 2023, and this time I am going to introduce a version for Tokyo DisneySea.
There are so many attractions at Tokyo DisneySea that I had a hard time deciding which ones I would recommend, but I have narrowed it down to five.
Let’s start with the top five.
No. 5 Toy Story Mania!
No. 5 is Toy Story Mania at the American Waterfront.
This is an attraction themed on the Pixar movie “Toy Story.”
Guests become the size of a toy and go under Andy’s bed.
There, they ride a tram and try their hand at a carnival game where they shoot at targets.

- Height restriction: None
- Duration: About 7 minutes
- Capacity: 12 people
This is an attraction where you wear 3D glasses.
Each tram is equipped with two shooters, and guests are challenged with various target shooting games.
To get a good score, you have to shoot a lot, so your arms get very tired, but it is fun to compete with your group or family for points.
Toy Story Mania is eligible for Disney Premier Access.
No. 4 Journey to the Center of the Earth
No. 4 is the Journey to the Center of the Earth at Mysterious Island.
Guests explore an unknown world in a subterranean vehicle.
Along the way, guests pass through a crystal cave and a tunnel of luminous creatures, and the mysterious atmosphere is irresistible.

- Height restriction: 117cm or taller
- Duration: About 3 minutes
- Capacity: 6 people per car
One of the most unique features of Center of the Earth is the coaster’s speed.
The maximum speed of the “Center of the Earth” reaches 75 km/h as it exits the volcano at the attraction’s climax.
A speed of 75 km/h is the fastest among Tokyo Disney Resort attractions.
Moreover, that top speed is not reached when the coaster is falling, but when it rushes up.
Originally, the speed was 100 km/h, but apparently, too many people were surprised at the preview, so the speed was changed to 75 km/h.
By the way, the ranking of the maximum speed of attractions at Tokyo Disney Resort is as follows.
- 1st: Center of the Earth @ Tokyo DisneySea (75km/h)
- 2nd: Splash Mountain @ Tokyo Disneyland (62km/h)
- 3rd: Raging Spirits @ Tokyo DisneySea (60km/h)
Center of the Earth is a Disney Premier Access eligible attraction.
No. 3 Tower of Terror
No. 3 is the Tower of Terror at the American Waterfront.
Guests take a tour of the hotel and finally take the elevator to the top floor, where it suddenly stops, then rapidly rises and falls.

- Height restriction: 102cm or taller
- Duration: About 2 minutes
- Capacity: 22 people per unit
I recommend the Tower of Terror because of the spectacular view.
To be honest, the haunting stories and corridors to get to the ride are much scarier than the attraction, but the view makes me feel glad that I rode it.
If you ride at night time, you can see the beautiful night view of Tokyo DisneySea.
Tower of Terror is eligible for Disney Premier Access.
No. 2 Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage
No. 2 is Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage at the Arabian Coast.
Guests can experience Sinbad’s journey to find the “greatest treasure” with his sidekick Chandu.
- Location: Arabian Coast
- Height restriction: None
- Duration: About 10 minutes
- Capacity: 24 persons per car
My recommendation is the theme music played at the attractions.
Composed by Disney music master Alan Menken, “Compass of Your Heart” can only be heard at Tokyo DisneySea.
When I ride Sinbad at the end of the day at the park, I feel that the theme song lingers in my ears and helps me get a good night’s sleep.
The ride is not affected by weather, and the relatively short wait time makes scheduling easy and convenient.
Sinbad’s sidekick Chandu is a character you can only meet at Tokyo DisneySea.
No. 1 Soaring: Fantastic Flight
No. 1 is the Soaring: Fantastic Flight at Mediterranean Harbor.
This is the most popular attraction at Tokyo DisneySea.
Guests board the Dream Flyer, a flying vehicle, and use their imagination to travel to famous landmarks and natural wonders around the world.

- Height restriction: 102 cm and taller
- Duration: About 5 minutes
- Capacity: 87 people per theater
I will never forget the first time I rode Soaring.
It was an immersive experience as if I was seeing the world’s most spectacular scenery directly with my own eyes.
Soaring is eligible for Disney Premier Access (DPA).
It is our #1 recommended attraction, but you should avoid going there first thing, except for early entry for Disney Hotel guests.
The reason for this is that the park is most crowded right after it opens, so you will lose a lot of time.
Wait times are relatively settled at night, but if you want to ride during daylight hours, you may want to consider purchasing a DPA.
Summary
This is a ranking of the attractions to ride at Tokyo DisneySea in 2023.
As you can see, many attractions tend to be Disney Premier Access eligible, but it may be tough to complete in one day.
