What is Big Band Beat?
Big Band Beat is one of the shows performed at Tokyo DisneySea.
You can watch the video on the official Tokyo Disney Resort channel.
It’s a short video, so you may not understand it well, but you’ll see later why I recommend this show.
Let’s start with an overview.
Big Band Beat Overview
An overview of the Big Band Beat at Tokyo DisneySea is as follows.
- Venue: Broadway Music Theater (American Waterfront)
- Duration: About 25 minutes
- Performances: 4 daily
- Participating Disney Characters: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy
Note: This information is current as of the updated date, so please check the official website before visiting the park.
I’ll explain in more detail in the next section.
How to get to the Broadway Music Theater
You can see the Big Band Beat at the Broadway Music Theater.
When you go to Broadway from Mediterranean Harbor, take the road to the McDonald’s Department Store’s left.
You’ll pass by the New York Deli and under the Electric Railway tracks, and you’ll see the Broadway Music Theater.
How to see the show
Unfortunately, Big Band Beat is not a show that all guests can watch. There are two ways to see the show.
In case of Entry Request
You can watch the show by drawing lots (Entry Request) on the Tokyo Disney Resort app, and if you win, you can watch the show.
Before COVID-19, anyone could sit on the second floor of the first performance. However, due to the pandemic, Disney decided to limit the number of guests. Now, only winners by lottery are allowed to see the show.
For vacation packages
Vacation packages are the official travel plans of Tokyo Disney Resort.
If you choose a plan that includes a show, you can see the Big Band Beat.
The Broadway Music Theater has reserved a spot for your vacation package so that you can enjoy the show from your special seat.
For more information, please visit the official website for vacation packages.
Review of Big Band Beat
As a big fan of Tokyo Disney Resort shows, I will review Big Band Beat.
Before entering the Broadway Music Theater
I made an entry request (lottery) on the Tokyo Disney Resort app, and I won, so I could watch the show.
All seats at Big Band Beat are reserved, and you can see your number on the winning screen. I was in A block.
About 30 minutes before the start of the show, you can see your pass on your smartphone.
Once you have your 2D code scanned by a cast member, you’ll be able to enter the theater.
My Thoughts on Big Band Beat
Here’s my impression of Big Band Beat.
Due to COVID-19, there were fewer bands and dancers, but it was a very satisfying show.
Block A was not in front of the stage, but it was enough.
Mickey Mouse’s drumming is fantastic, and I wish you could see it in person.
I’ll write more about the highlights of the Big Band Beat in another article.
Tips on watching Big Band Beat with kids
Big Band Beat is a theme park show, so kids are welcome.
There are cushions to elevate the chairs so that you can watch the show with your kids without worry.
However, the show is live music and dance, and there is no storyline, so maybe kids will get bored.
I have a daughter. When she was about three years old, I was worried that if she thought Big Band Beat was a show like My Friend Duffy, I would disappoint her. However, since Big Band Beat changes scenes so quickly, even my young daughter was able to enjoy the show without getting bored.
Big Band Beat Merchandise
You can buy Big Band Beat merchandise at Tokyo DisneySea.
The mini snack case is the item you can buy now. You can put gummy candies inside the Mickey drum. It has a chain so you can attach it to your bag and take it with you anytime.

- Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery (Meditteranean Harbor)
- Hudson River Harvest (American Waterfront)

- Sebastian’s Calypso Kitchen (Mermaid Lagoon)
Summary
I shared the Big Band Beat at Tokyo DisneySea.
If you ever come to the park, this is the most recommended show that you should watch.
Mickey Mouse plays the drums, and it’s fantastic. He’s also a great tap dancer and a true star.
The only show you can currently see at Tokyo DisneySea is Big Band Beat.
However, I believe that once COVID-19 comes to an end, the Cape Cod Cook-Off show will reopen.
I hope the day will come when you can watch the show with peace of mind.
