Horizon Bay Restaurant used to be a character dining, but unfortunately, it is over. Now it’s open as a restaurant where you can get special menus for each event and buy souvenir goods.
Horizon Bay is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant at Tokyo DisneySea, so be sure to keep it in mind.
What is the Horizon Bay Restaurant?
The Horizon Bay Restaurant is a buffeteria service restaurant at Tokyo DisneySea.
What is a buffeteria service?
The word “buffeteria” is a combination of the words “buffet” and “cafeteria.
In a buffeteria service restaurant, you pick up your food on a tray and pay for it at the cash register before you are seated.
You can have as many dishes as you want, in any combination, so that you can adjust to your hunger level.
Horizon Bay Restaurant as Character Dining
Horizon Bay Restaurant was character dining until 2019. Unfortunately, you cannot meet the characters now.
Character dining ended before COVID-19 came out, so I don’t think it will be coming back.
However, the restaurant’s seating capacity has been increased to 500, making it one of the more empty restaurants in Tokyo DisneySea.

If you go to the Port Discovery area of Tokyo DisneySea, you’ll find the Horizon Bay Restaurant.
Nearby attractions are Nemo & Friends SeaRider, and Aquatopia.
How to get to Port Discovery
If you are at the Mediterranean Harbor or American Waterfront, you can take the Electric Railway.
You can also walk to Port Discovery, but there are stairs on the way, and if you have a stroller or wheelchair, you will have to take a detour so that it will take longer.
If you take the Electric Railway to Port Discovery, it’s easier and more fun because you get to see the scenery of Tokyo DisneySea as you go.
Horizon Bay Restaurant Menu
The Horizon Bay Restaurant has a menu with pictures before you enter the restaurant and in the queue.
While you’re waiting in line, you can decide what you want to eat.
The menu is also available in English, so don’t worry if you can’t read Japanese. Children can choose by pointing at the pictures.

How to Order
Horizon Bay Restaurant is a buffeteria, so you put as much food as you want on your tray.
If you’re with children, the cast members will help you with the little ones who can’t reach the counter. The cast member will carry the child’s tray to the table for you.
Food Report
I had the grilled beef, Mickey Mouse bread, and seasonal mousse.
The steak was juicy and tender beef.
I shared it with my five-year-old daughter, and she liked the beef, so she ate it well.
Mickey Mouse bread is a specialty of the park. You can find this in every restaurant, and it is fluffy and delicious.
The seasonal mousse has a cute Mickey shape. It’s refreshing and delicious.
Kids Menu
Horizon Bay Restaurant has a Children’s Set.
The children’s set has all the ingredients that children like.
For an additional 1,000 yen, you can add a souvenir plate to the children’s meal. The children’s set and the souvenir plate have the same shape in the picture, so you might think the food will be served on the souvenir plate, but don’t worry, you’ll get a new one to take home.

The Special set at the Horizon Bay Restaurant is a menu inspired by the event. Right now, you can choose Duffy & Friends Sunny Fun.
If you buy souvenir plates or cups, you can also get cushioning material to prevent them from breaking, so you don’t have to worry about taking them home.
It’s only in Japanese, but take a look at the menu before going to the Horizon Bay Restaurant.
How to make a reservation at Horizon Bay Restaurant
The Horizon Bay Restaurant has Priority Seating so that you can make reservations.
You can make reservations starting at 10:00 a.m. one month before your visit, so if you know you’re going to the restaurant, take advantage of it.
However, the Horizon Bay Restaurant doesn’t get crowded after the character dining is over, so I think it’s okay to go without a reservation.
When I went there without a reservation, it was noon on a Sunday, and the wait was about 25 minutes.
If you go to the restaurant directly on your visit, you can check the wait time on the Tokyo Disney Resort app before you go.
