Where to eat at the American Waterfront in Tokyo Disney Sea?

Of the seven themed ports at Tokyo Disney Sea, the American Waterfront has two districts. One is New York with its elevated trains and automobiles, and the other is Cape Cod, a rustic fishing village.

If you’re in Cape Cod, I’ve mentioned the Cape Cod Cook-Off before. Duffy and his friends are so cute and soothing, aren’t they?

And if you’re in the New York area, I recommend the New York Deli. It’s a restaurant where you can eat sandwiches. It opens a little earlier than other restaurants, so it’s a good breakfast place.

I’m going to share about New York Deli, a delicatessen in the New York area.

Where is the New York Deli?

The New York Deli is in the theater district on the American Waterfront.

If you go to the left on Mediterranean Harbor, you will find McDuck’s Department Store. I guess this store is like the entrance to the American Waterfront.

The street to the left of McDucks’s is Broadway. If you go straight down this street, you’ll come to Toyville Trolley Park, where Toy Story Mania is located. The New York Deli is on the way, and the Statue of Liberty sign on the left is a landmark.

The Story of New York Deli

Before going to the New York Deli, you should know the background story so you can enjoy it more!

The New York Deli is located in the theater district, so actors and musicians often come here. But it was so popular that they ran out of dining space. The photo studio and tailor store next door lent their room to the deli. That’s why there are two dining areas, each with the look and feel of the former store.

The decorations on the walls are different, so it’s better to see which one you prefer before you eat.

New York Deli Opening Hours

I can’t say for sure that the opening hours are in flux because of the COVID-19, sorry. But I can tell you what happened before when the park was operating normally.

They open earlier and close later than the Priority Seating restaurants, which was very convenient.

New York Deli Menu

New York Deli is a counter service type restaurant with sandwiches as its main menu.

How to order

You order and pay for your food at first, then pick it up. There is a menu board before you enter the restaurant, and samples are available at the entrance.

Food Review

Here are my impressions of the sandwiches and cheesecake I had at the New York Deli.

Specialty Sandwiches

I ordered the Mile High Deli Stack at the top of the menu board. This sandwich has three tiers: the top level is corned beef and tomato, the second tier is ratatouille, and the third tier is chicken, egg, and cheese. I’m not sure if I should eat all three levels at once or one story at a time. In this case, I ate one tier at a time, starting from the top.

The top layer was filled with corned beef. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but there were mashed potatoes in between as well. The corned beef and potatoes went well together. Next is Ratatouille. Ratatouille is delicious even when it’s cold. It is also suitable for those who don’t like vegetables.
The last one is chicken, egg, and cheese. It tasted like something a child would like. Each tier of the sandwiches had plenty of filling, so it was a good idea to share.

Moist New York Style Cheesecake

For dessert, I had cheesecake. There are many kinds of cheesecakes in Japan, but the one served at the New York Deli is the “New York-style” cheesecake. I like cheesecake best among cakes, and the cheesecake at New York Deli is superb. The cake is moist, rich, and smooth. If you get tired of walking in the park, you should take a break with this cake and a cup of coffee.

Alcohol

You can drink alcohol at the New York Deli. Draft beer and hot wine are available. I guess beer goes well with sandwiches. Drinking beer cocktail on the terrace in summer is also a good idea.

How to reservations

Reservations are not required for the New York Deli. The entrance is narrow, but the restaurant is spacious, with 520 seats. If you avoid the meal times, you will hardly have to wait. I recommend brunch time.
