Riding attractions and watching parades are not the only ways to enjoy the Disney parks.
Eating a delicious meal with your family or group will also be a fun memory.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parks and enjoy a relaxing dining experience with your family, I recommend the Disney-owned hotels.
Tokyo Disney Resort now has four Disney-owned hotels.
There are several restaurants in each hotel, but in this article, I would like to share about Silk Road Garden in Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
What is Silk Road Garden?
Silk Road Garden is a Chinese restaurant located in Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
In the category of Chinese cuisine, Silk Road Garden is a restaurant that serves Cantonese cuisine.
Cantonese cuisine is famous for its dim sum in Japan.
Silk Road Garden offers a wide selection of Chinese tea and dim sum.
Seating capacity is 126, which is not large for a restaurant.
However, Silk Road Garden has a lot of box seats with sofas, so you can relax in comfort.
You’ll want to stay longer at this restaurant.
Location of the Silk Road Garden
The Silk Road Garden is located on the second floor of Hotel MiraCosta.
On the second floor, there is a sculpture of a ship, the symbol of MiraCosta.
You’ll find the entrance next to Oceano’s, a Mediterranean restaurant.
As soon as you enter the entrance, you will be immersed in an exotic atmosphere.
The walls of the restaurant are painted with the story of Marco Polo’s journey from Italy to China.
Even inside the restaurant, you can feel like you’re on an adventure!
Silk Road Garden Menu
You can check out the menu for the Silk Road Garden restaurant at the URL below.
Unfortunately, the menu available online is only available in Japanese.
If you like spicy food, I recommend Mapo Tofu.
The fried rice and sweet and sour pork are also delicious, so even children who cannot eat spicy food will be satisfied.
The apricot bean curd is also excellent.
Silk Road Garden has two kinds of apricot bean curd, both of which are melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
A La Carte Dishes at Silk Road Garden
Silk Road Garden is the only restaurant in the Disney Hotels that can be ordered a la carte.
At the Disney Hotel restaurants, you will be eating a full course meal, which can make you feel like your stomach is about to burst lol.
If you’re full, you won’t be able to enjoy the delicious snacks in the parks.
At Silk Road Garden, you can order a la carte dishes according to how hungry you are, so if you feel like a snack, you can afford it.
You can check out the a la carte menu at the following URL, although it is in Japanese.
Chinese food has a lot of portions in one dish.
There are more than 1.5 to 2 servings per plate, so it’s best to share it with your family.
- Mabo Tofu
- Rice
- Dim sum (especially xiaolongbao)
- Apricot bean curd
If you have small children, I recommend adding cream of corn soup with crab meat to the above.
The cream of corn soup is mildly seasoned and can be safely fed to small children.
How to make reservations for the Silk Road Garden
This section explains how to make reservations for the Silk Road Garden at Hotel MiraCosta.
Restaurant reservations in Disney hotels can be divided into two cases: guests and general guests.
- The case of Disney Hotel guests
As a benefit of being a guest at the hotel, you can make reservations at the restaurants in the hotel during your stay.
You can make a reservation for the restaurant after your hotel reservation (starting from 11:00 a.m. on the same day two months prior) is approved.
- General guest case
Reservations start at 10:00 a.m. on the same day two months prior to the date of use at the online reservation site.
The reservation start date is the same day two months in advance for both, but the reservation quota is divided between general guests and hotel guests.
General guests start making reservations an hour earlier than hotel guests, but most of the seats in the restaurant are allocated to hotel guests.
So it can be quite a challenge to book a restaurant in a hotel as an ordinary guest.
The restaurants at Disney Hotels are popular among gourmets, and some Guests even stay at the hotels to dine at the restaurants.
In this case, the guest privileges may disappear soon!
Silk Road Garden is also one of the hotel’s most popular restaurants, so reservations fill up quickly, but if you check the reservation site often, you may be able to pick up a cancellation.
Birthday Celebrations at Silk Road Garden
At Silk Road Garden, you can also celebrate the birthday of your family and friends.
Price: 6,000 yen ($52.3)
Contents: Sphere, original cake, original photo frame
Advance reservation required
If you order the Precious Celebration Set, a whole-sized cake will be served at the end of your meal.
The cake also comes with a message plate.
You can get an original photo frame with a photo taken before the dinner, which will be a nice souvenir.
The Sphere is a jewelry box and makes a great gift.
Watching a show at the Silk Road Garden
Silk Road Garden is the only restaurant in MiraCosta that does not have windows.
However, in the past, only guests who ordered a course meal could watch the show from Oceano’s terrace.
Currently, it is no longer possible to view the show from Oceano’s terrace.
I’m sure the hotel restaurants will resume showing shows on their terraces once there are no more concerns about infections.
Summary
In this article, I introduced Silk Road Garden, a Chinese restaurant located in Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
The Silk Road Garden is located inside the hotel, so you can enjoy a relaxing meal away from the hustle and bustle of the park.
Chinese food is served on a platter so you can share it and adjust it to any family size.
The Silk Road Garden also offers an original dim sum afternoon tea in collaboration with Duffy’s Wonderful Voyage.
If you want to know about other restaurants in Hotel MiraCosta, I recommend the review of Bella Vista Lounge.
