Just recently, a longtime dream of mine came true. I stayed at the Minnie Mouse Room in Disney Ambassador Hotel. The Disney Ambassador Hotel was just as lovely as I thought, and I will give a review in this article.
Disney Ambassador Hotel
There are four Disney Hotels in Tokyo Disney Resort, and one of them is Disney Ambassador Hotel.
- Disney Ambassador Hotel
- Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
- Tokyo Disney Sea Hotel MiraCosta
- Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel
Disney Hotels are the hotels that Tokyo Disney Resort owns and operates. We can find Disney atmosphere inside the hotels. Disney Ambassador Hotel was established in 2000, and it has the longest history among the Disney Hotels.
The hotel is located between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea, and it’s convenient to use a shuttle bus for going back and forth.
Character Room
There are Character Rooms in Disney Ambassador Hotel. Character Rooms are based on Disney characters, and the number of rooms is limited. The following are the types of character rooms.
- Mickey Mouse Room
- Minnie Mouse Room
- Donald Duck Room
- Chip ‘n Dale Room
- Stich Room
I stayed at Minnie Mouse Room this time. I want to review this room in the next section.
Review of Minnie Mouse Room
The character rooms, including the Minnie Mouse Room, are located on the sixth floor, the top floor of the Disney Ambassador Hotel. The top floor is called the Ambassador Floor, and rooms on this floor have access to an exclusive lounge called the Ambassador Lounge.
What you can do in the Ambassador Lounge
The Ambassador Lounge offers the following benefits.
- Check-in and check-out procedures exclusive to the lounge users
- Luggage storage before and after check-in and check-out
- Serving drinks and snacks
It’s nice to be able to check-in and check out in the private lounge. Drinks are available as well. The menu is below.
My daughter was happy to eat candies. If you can’t eat all sweets, you can take them to eat in your room.
Let’s check the Minnie Mouse Room!
The first thing that jumped into my eyes was the ribbon shaped cushion on the bed. And if you looked closely, you could see Minnie Mouse painted all over the wall. You can feel Minnie Mouse’s presence everywhere throughout the room.
The following amenities are available in the room.
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Toothbrush
- Hairbrush
- Shaving
- Body towel
- Amenity kit (cotton swabs, cot, shower cap, and hairband)
- Indoor slippers
- Paper bag
The amenity kit comes in a Minnie Mouse pouch that you can take home with you. You can also take home a paper bag with the opened new area in Disneyland printed. The rooms on the Ambassador floor are also equipped with bath salts and cosmetic sets. The cosmetics set was handy as it helped reduce my luggage.
View From the Room
We had a small balcony in our room. The view from our room was the front square of the hotel. The view was nice, but we couldn’t see Disneyland or Disney Sea, which is a little far away.
Price
The Character Room is very popular and hard to book at weekends. So we stayed on a weekday, and the room charge was about $1146.
Festival Disney
There is a gift shop in the Disney Ambassador Hotel called Festival Disney. When you get in, Mickey Mouse, dressed as a porter, will welcome you at the entrance. You can buy souvenirs like snacks and stuffed dolls here. Rare merchandise like Mickey doll in Chef Mickey costumes are sold in this store. Also, there is a convenience store called Sunset Sundries next to Festival Disney.
Summary and Further Reading
I shared the Minnie Mouse Room at Disney Ambassador Hotel in this post. I thought the decoration was more adult-like than the Disneyland Hotel and Hotel MiraCosta. The price is lower than other deluxe Disney hotels, so I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay at a Disney hotel but wants to keep the expense down.
When you stay at the Ambassador Hotel, you can have breakfast at the popular character dining room, Chef Mickey. However, due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Disney characters will not appear.
If you want to know more about Chef Mickeys Character dining, check our review of Chef Mickey. Empire Grill is another restaurant in the Disney Ambassador Hotel, which serves exquisite Californian dishes.
