There are many hotels around Tokyo Disney Resort, so you may wonder which one is the best place to stay.
However, if you want to enjoy the afterglow of Disney, I recommend staying at a directly managed hotel (Disney Hotel).
Currently, there are four directly managed hotels, and a fifth hotel, the Toy Story Hotel, will open in April this year.
In this article, I will give you an overview of the Toy Story Hotel at the Disney Resort in Japan.

What is the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel?
The Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel is the fifth Disney-owned hotel that will open on April 5, 2022.
As the name indicates, it’s a hotel based on the Disney/Pixar movie “Toy Story series.”
A special website has also been launched, although it is in Japanese.
A special movie is also available on YouTube.
Just look at the unique website, it’s exciting!
The theme of the Toy Story Hotel is “a hotel for toys created by Andy and his toys,” and it seems that we, the guests, can visit the hotel as “honorary toys.”
The good thing about Disney is that even the backstory is well thought out.
After knowing the story, you will enjoy your stay at the hotel even more.
Facilities in Toy Story Hotel
Let’s check out each facility in Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel.
1 Slinky Dock Park
There is a park in front of the entrance with a huge Slinky Dock game board.
There is a 4-meter statue of Buzz Lightyear and Jessie, which is also a good photo spot.
The kids could play at Slinky Dock Park for a whole day!
2 Lobby
The lobby is the place where guests can join the “honorary toys.”
You’ll see flooring with large puzzle pieces and a giant game board ceiling.
Surrounded by toys 360 degrees, the view is as if you have truly shrunk to the size of a toy.
The atmosphere is similar to that of Toy Story Mania at Tokyo DisneySea.
3 Guest room (Andy’s room)
The guest room is Andy’s room.
It’s great fun to be the size of a toy and stay in Andy’s room.
The decor is just like Andy’s room in Toy Story 1, with blue sky and white clouds wallpaper and a giant Mickey Mouse watch hanging on the wall.
I’m sure the fans will love it.
4 Restaurant (Lotso’s Garden Cafe)
The restaurant is inspired by the pink stuffed bear, Lotso, from Toy Story 3.
The rainbow painted on the ceiling reminds me of Sunnyside Nursery School.
Lotso’s Garden Cafe is an exclusive restaurant for guests, serving breakfast and dinner.
5 Courtyard (Toy Friends Square)
You can also meet the toys in the courtyard.
In the courtyard, there is Woody, Bo Peep, and the three sheep.
Toy Friends Square is a great place to visit during the day.
The atmosphere designed to the details will let you feel like you’re inside Tokyo Disneyland rather than a hotel.
Room Types at the Toy Story Hotel
Check out the room types at the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel.
Standard Room: 575 rooms
Superior Room: 20 rooms
Total: 595 rooms
There are four types of guest rooms.
Room Types | Capacity | Bed Type | Size | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Partial View | Standard Room | 3 or 4 people | Twin | 27㎡・29㎡ |
Standard | Standard Room | 3 or 4 people | Twin | 27㎡・29㎡ |
Accessible Room | 3 people | Twin | 31㎡ | |
Superior Room | 4 people | Twin | 35㎡ | |
Superior Accessible Room | 4 people | Twin | 55㎡ | |
Bay View | Standard Room | 3 or 4 people | Twin | 27㎡・28㎡ |
Square View | Standard Room | 3 or 4 people | Twin | 28㎡・30㎡ |
Standard Superior Accessible Room | 3 people | Twin | 31㎡ | |
Superior Room | 4 people | Twin | 35㎡ |
There are no suites at the Toy Story Hotel, and the room types are distinguished by their views.
What is Partial View?
Partial view rooms are located on the third floor on the Bayside Station side of the Disney Resort Line, and the view is blocked by buildings.
What is Bay View?
Bay View is a room with a view of Tokyo Bay.
What is a Square View?
A Square View room is a room with a view of the Toy Friends Square courtyard.
Which are the most popular rooms at Toy Story Hotel?
Wouldn’t you also like to know the most popular rooms at Toy Story Hotel?
I think the ones that are likely to be the most popular are the partial view and superior rooms.
The partial view is suitable for those who want to enjoy the best of a Disney hotel while keeping the cost of accommodation low.
A Superior Room can accommodate up to four people.
Until now, the only options for four people were family rooms at the Disneyland Hotel or Ambassador Hotel.
Alternatively, we could try to get two connecting rooms at MiraCosta.
However, a Superior Room at the Toy Story Hotel would be a better option than a Family Room or Connecting Room to save on accommodation costs.
The “Square View Superior Room” with a view of Toy Friends Square from the room is probably the most difficult to book.
Notes on the Toy Story Hotel Rooms
The Toy Story Hotel does not have any rooms marketed as park side.
Even if you are assigned a room on the front side of the park, you can only see the parking lot and the resort line station building.
Also, there is no classification of low-rise or high-rise floors, so you cannot choose the floor of your room.
Toy Story Hotel Room Prices
The price of each room is also an important factor.
Toy Story Hotel is a moderate-type hotel.
It is between the deluxe type and the value type, so I would expect to pay around 30,000 to 40,000 yen (About $259-346) per room.
This is just my personal prediction, but I think the price will be similar to Tokyo Disney Ambassador Hotel.
I’ll let you know when the price is announced.
Room Facilities and Amenities at Toy Story Hotel
If you’re staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel, you’ll want to know what amenities are available to you!
- Toothbrushes
- Brushes
- Body Towel
- Indoor Slippers
- Amenity kit (cotton swabs, cotton, hair elastics)
- Shaver (available at the Guest Services Counter)
The Toy Story Hotel rooms have the same amenities as a typical hotel.
- TV (general broadcasting, Disney Channel)
- Towels
- Hand soap
- Hair dryer
- Adult pajamas
- Shower toilet
- Safety box
- Refrigerator
- Free coffee and tea
- Shampoo (dispenser type)
- Conditioner (dispenser type)
- Body soap (dispenser type)
- Electric water kettle
Being able to watch the Disney Channel in your room is a great service for families with children.
- Step stool for children
- Children’s pajamas (S, M, L)
- Diaper bag
- Slippers for children
- Toothbrush for children
- Baby crib (under 18 months old) <Reservation required>
Disney hotels are very helpful in providing amenities for children.
It’s easy to forget things that children use, lol.
Last but not least, Wi-Fi is also available for free.
Restaurants at Toy Story Hotel
The Lotso Garden Cafe is a buffet-style restaurant located in the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel.
Only guests staying at the hotel are allowed to use the cafe.
Guests can use the cafe from breakfast on the day of check-in to dinner on the day of check-out.
Since it is buffet style, you would think that the prices would be higher.
Let’s check the prices.
Lotso Garden Cafe Prices | Breakfast | Dinner |
---|---|---|
Adult (13 years old and over) | 2,800 yen ($21.6) | 4,200 yen ($32.4) |
Middle child (7 to 12 years old) | 1,700 yen ($13.1) | 2,300 yen ($17.7) |
Child (4 to 6 years old) | 1,100 yen ($8.5) | 1,500 yen ($11.6) |
Under 3 years old | Free of charge | Free of charge |
The Buffet Restaurant prices for the Deluxe type Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta are as follows.
Oceano Prices | Breakfast | Dinner |
---|---|---|
Adult (13 years old and over) | 3,200 yen ($27.7) | 5,800 yen ($50.1) 6,300 yen on holidays ($54.4) |
Middle child (7 to 12 years old) | 2,100 yen ($18.2) | 3,600 yen ($31.1) |
Child (4 to 6 years old) | 1,500 yen ($13) | 2,600 yen ($22.3) |
Under 3 years old | Free of charge | Free of charge |
There is not much difference in the price of breakfast between Toy Story Hotel and MiraCosta, but dinner is definitely more expensive at MiraCosta.
It is the same for both Toy Story Hotel and MiraCosta that children under 3 years old are free of charge.
Toy Story Hotel Restaurant Reservations
The Lotso Garden Cafe at the Toy Story Hotel is a restaurant that is only available to hotel guests.
Once your reservation is confirmed, you can reserve the restaurant as a special offer for your stay.
Guest Benefits at Toy Story Hotel
The Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel, which Disney directly operates, offers special benefits to its guests.
1 Park Ticket
You don’t need to prepare your park tickets in advance. You can buy them at the hotel.
A maximum of one ticket can be purchased per person per day for the duration of your stay.
You can also purchase tickets for accompanying children.
2 Early Entry
If you stay at a Disney hotel and purchase an early entry ticket, you can enter the park one hour before the park opens.
Early Entry tickets are on sale now up to February 28.
Depending on the status of the coronavirus, you should be able to purchase Early Entry tickets after April 6, since Toy Story Hotel is a Disney Hotel.
Early Entry tickets are 3,000 yen per ticket, but the advantage of entering the park earlier than other guests is enormous.
3 Baggage service
Toy Story Hotel has a baggage delivery service.
Baggage Delivery Service
- From Tokyo Disney Resort Welcome Center (JR Maihama Station) to the hotel
- Fee: Free of charge
- Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Station Delivery Service
- From the hotel to the Tokyo Disney Resort Welcome Center (JR Maihama Station)
- Fee: 600 yen
- Reception hours: 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Pick-up time: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The baggage delivery service is quite convenient.
I use this service every time I stay at a Disney Hotel because I can drop off my luggage at the Welcome Center in JR Maihama Station and play right away at the park.
It’s not listed on the official website, but delivery service is also available between official hotels and Disney Hotels.
You can use this service when you move between hotels within the resort.
Access to Toy Story Hotel
Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel is located right in front of Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line.
Bayside Station is the closest station to the official hotels.
Toy Story Hotel is located between the Hilton Tokyo Bay and Hotel Okura.
Currently, there is no information on shuttle buses to the park.
If you take the monorail from Bayside Station to the parks, it will take you 4 minutes to get to Tokyo DisneySea and 9 minutes to get to Tokyo Disneyland.

Summary
I’ve shared an overview of the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel.
It’s going to be an experience that’s almost like staying in one of the parks!
I want to stay there if I can, but I don’t think I can win the battle for reservations, lol.
Perhaps the popularity of this hotel will settle down when Tokyo DisneySea’s new hotel (Fantasy Springs Hotel) opens in 2023.
I hope to stay there sometime this year, and when I do, I’ll post a review.
