How would you feel if your birthday was celebrated by a Disney Character? Wouldn’t it be great if a Disney Character celebrated your birthday the same way your family and friends did?
I have a 4-year-old daughter. Every year, I try to do something special for her birthday. I wanted my daughter to have the best birthday this year, so I went to Chef Mickey.
We also stayed in the Disneyland Hotel for her birthday, which I have shared our experience in another article.
Restaurants where you can meet Disney characters
Chef Mickey is the only character dining at Tokyo Disney Resort. The restaurant is in the Disney Ambassador Hotel, which is located a few minutes walk from Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea. Although the restaurant is inside the hotel, anyone can book a reservation. In character dining, Mickey and other Disney Characters will meet you at the table during your meal.
At Chef Mickey, you can meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck.
Take lots of pictures with Disney characters!
When the Characters came up to our table, a Cast Member takes pictures for you with your camera. We sometimes ask Cast Members to take pictures at the Park, but in this restaurant, the Cast Members are used to taking photos with any camera, and they take very nice pictures.
The Cast Members took a bunch of photos of our family.
When I told the Disney Characters that it was my daughter’s birthday, they all congratulated her. They are always so nice to the kids.
Get an autograph from a Disney character!
At Chef Mickey, you can ask for an autograph from the Disney Characters. Even if you meet a Character in the Park, it’s hard to get an autograph with so many guests around them. But at Chef Mickey, they will be pleased to write an autograph.

Chef Mickey’s food is not only pretty, but it tastes good too. The cake above was one of my favorites.
Celebrate your anniversary with Chef Mickey
Chef Mickey has a plan called Happy Wish Day. A cast member will give you an original photo stand for an extra charge(about $35) with your meal. I think it would be a great gift to include a photo at Chef Mickey on the original photo stand.
How to make a reservation
Honestly, it’s hard to book just Chef Mickey. The easiest way to do this is to stay at a Disney hotel. Normally this restaurant can only be booked a month in advance. The reservation starts at 10 AM (GMT+9) on the reservation site, but the site is always so crowded at this time and you have to be very lucky to get a connection. However, if you have a Disney hotel reservation, you can book this restaurant for 5 months in advance, which is a big advantage. When I booked the Disneyland Hotel, I also booked Chef Mickey.
Summary
Chef Mickey is the only character dining at the Tokyo Disney Resort. My daughter was very happy to see the Disney Characters and have a good meal. I was also happy to be able to give her the best birthday gift ever. I would go to Chef Mickey again when I stay at a Disney hotel.
